I'm just resting my eyes...

Hey ARTfans!


Ummm… what the heck happened. I’ll tell you what… a whole lot of nuffin’.


Ok, so that’s not entirely fair. While I haven’t been very productive (or been keeping up with my 30 Day ART Challenge), I have been working on some stuff behind the scenes. Seems after our little battle with the flu a few weeks ago… I just haven’t had the desire/energy to stay up till the weeeeee hours of the morning… guess I’ve been catching up on some rest. Which is good for me… bad for my art.


I’ve mostly been working on our websites – we’re gearing up to re-launch www.egocomics.com and www.stomping-ground.com in the next couple of weeks. So I’ve been working on getting those up and running. I am also currently in the process of moving my blog from Blogger and folding it into our egocomics.com website. It’s up and running now (and I’ve imported all of my old posts/comments now, but it still needs some work to make it feel like home. 
Also, I’m moving from Blogger to WordPress, so that’s been a bit of a switch-a-roo too.
The new home for my blog will be: ipoopart.egocomics.com  (feel free to update your links accordingly – although, until it’s ‘official’, I’ll continue to duplicate posts to both sites. Also, for anyone who wants to keep following my blog, should probably look at ‘following’ me over at the new site – since at some point, I will scuttle the blogger version)


In other news… We’re still gearing up for our first show in June – at the Albuquerque Comic Expo! And it looks like we’ll actually be setting up at the Twin Suns booth (Booth # 608). Josh & Drew have been incredibly gracious and allowed us to share a corner of their booth.


So, if you happen to be in Albuquerque on June 8-10th… you should come out and see us! We have a couple of big things planned for the show, so keep checking back to see what’s cooking! Might even include some previews!!! We’ll see!

Update

Hey ARTfans!


I want to apologize for the lack of updates over the last couple of days. I kinda fell down a little bit, lost a little of my momentum. It seems that a bunch of colds (possibly the flu) rampaged through our house this last 2 weeks. The kids all had it, passing it from one to the other. Coop gave it to me, and I was knocked out most of this last weekend... I'm just now getting back to 'normal-ish', and unfortunately... Wendi's fightin' her way through it now.


I promise to get back at the drawing table in the next day or two as I get to feeling better. I can't believe I haven't even fired up the Cintiq in over a week?

Aina's Schweeet Ride

Well, we've decided that Celeste isn't the only one with a Bad Motor Scooter!!!

Still needs a lot of work... her hair is not quite right yet... and I think her legs are a little bit too long. I didn't draw for very long last night, not like I was planning on anyway. But I'll be back at it again tonight. And hopefully have some more to show tomorrow... (I've been feelin' like the last couple of posts haven't been up to snuff... need to dig in and pull out the stops for the home stretch). 8 more days... and then I need to concentrate my efforts on getting our website up and running... then it's back to the drawing table. Still got lots to do before June!

A few Colors, and a Sketch

Hey ARTfans!


Well, today marks Day 21 of my 30 Day ART Challenge. And I have an image for you today, although it is little later than I was hoping for. I spent last night, finishing up the colors on Celeste and her big bad motor scooter. I'll need a background in order to finish this image... but I'll work on that once I'm finished with my ART Challenge.

I haven't been as productive this last week as I was hoping. It was a pretty busy weekend. The wife was out of town, so I was watching all the kids Friday - Sunday. Which was fun, got to spend some time with all of them... but didn't leave me feeling really ARTistic once I got everyone to bed. I'll even admit, I watched TV Friday and Saturday night. *GASP*, I even went to bed before midnight both nights... 

Well... things are getting back to normal this week, and I'll be back at the drawing table until the wee hours of the morning again... I need to get some images in the pipe to finish up the last couple of days of my ART challenge. I have a few ideas... so we'll see if I can get them outta my head and on to paper.

Oh, and I have one more image for you... just something I sketched up on Sunday night. Not sure what it is... or what it was going to be... other than some random Star Wars Jedi or Sith... something...

Work In Progress - Coloring Celeste

Hey ARTfans!


Back again.... so soon?


I'm not going to count this one towards my 30 Day ART Challenge... so I'm still at day 20. But I thought I would post what I was working on last night.

As you can see, I'm just about finished with the shading on Celeste. I think I'm gonna take another whack at her hair though... Not really happy with how that's coming along, so I think I'll just start over on the hair. Once I finish that up, it's on to the shading on the 'scooter'.


I blew up the image a little so you could see the detail. (I think her eyes might still be a little too dark... hmmm...)


I don't think I'm going to be able to work on this tonight, so I'll have to pick this back up later in the week. I think I'm going to spend tonight doing some more sketches, try and get a couple in the bag, so I have stuff to work on for the next couple of days.

An Evening of Sketchlings...

I hope you are all doing well. 


Day 20 of my 30 day ARTcast. (2/3 of the way there)


I spent last night at the drawing table doing some sketching. It wasn't a stellar night for art. But I knew that when I started all this... I wasn't going to be putting up awesome work every night... I worked on a couple sketches of Tuff, and I'm posting another sketch that I haven't posted yet, of Celeste (in the middle there - her hair didn't show up when I scanned it).


I did end the night working on the colors for Celeste and her "schweet motor scooter". I'm hoping to finish that up maybe tonight... (we'll see... there's a lot to color on that one... and I have in mind a particular 'look' that I'm hoping to achieve... so that may take additional time.)


Anyway... here's the last sketchDUMP for January 2012.

Lot's to do in February... and I still have 10 more days of my 30 day ART challenge to go.
